About The Position

The Logistics Supervisor, Courier Operations (Day Shift) oversees daytime courier operations and last-mile delivery of medical specimens, ensuring accurate, compliant, and timely transport. This role directly supervises Couriers and Lead Couriers and is responsible for daily operational decision-making across transportation operations, route coverage, and field operations. The Logistics Supervisor partners closely with Dispatch and the Evening Logistics Supervisor to resolve real-time operational issues, coordinate air cargo handoffs, support fleet operations, and maintain reliable specimen transport across the network. This is a hands-on leadership role requiring strong attention to detail, organization, and the ability to step in to support field operations as needed. Schedule Tuesday through Saturday, daytime hours Flexibility is required to address operational needs outside standard hours as business demands change. This position includes both in-office and on-the-road responsibilities.

Requirements

  • Minimum 2+ years of experience as a Lead or Supervisor in logistics, transportation, courier, delivery, or last-mile delivery operations
  • Minimum 2+ years of courier or delivery driving experience
  • Must be at least 21 years old
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Reliable personal transportation with active auto insurance
  • Active smartphone with sufficient data plan
  • Strong understanding of transportation operations, courier dispatch coordination, and logistics workflows
  • High attention to detail with strong organizational skills
  • Strong communication and problem-solving abilities
  • Willingness to run routes and provide backup courier or air courier support as needed
  • Ability to lift up to 25 lbs and move specimen containers or supplies
  • Ability to enter and exit vehicles frequently throughout the shift
  • Comfortable working in office and outdoor environments and in varying weather conditions

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Paycom or similar HRIS or timekeeping systems
  • Experience with air cargo coordination, including flight delays, cancellations, and handoffs
  • Experience with fleet operations, maintenance tracking, or audit and reporting processes
  • Experience supporting multi-region or multi-site logistics operations
  • Training, coaching, or team development experience

Responsibilities

  • Manage, assign, and oversee courier and lead courier schedules to ensure complete route coverage
  • Review and approve timecards, time-off requests, expenses, and corrective actions in Paycom
  • Conduct team check-ins, regional meetings, and one-on-one coaching sessions
  • Participate in interviewing, onboarding, and training of new team members
  • Support Dispatch with route optimization, stop-related inquiries, and operational inefficiencies
  • Collaborate with the Evening Logistics Supervisor on specimen transport issues, delays, air cargo coordination, and quality or audit needs
  • Address courier errors, missed or at-risk pickups, and route concerns with cross-functional partners
  • Serve as backup for courier and air courier coverage as needed
  • Support STAT runs, airport runs, and priority stops as required
  • Monitor fleet condition, vehicle tracking, and maintenance needs
  • Monitor handoff and cutoff times and adjust routes in coordination with Dispatch
  • Audit logistics reporting, including Dispatch, Courier, Incident, Flagged, Error, and Delay reports, identifying trends and recommending improvements
  • Maintain safety, compliance, and professional service standards
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by Logistics leadership
