The Logistics Supervisor is responsible for directing plant material activities to ensure superior customer delivery, optimized inventory levels, and a safe, efficient warehouse environment. This role bridges the gap between production scheduling and physical logistics, supervising staff to maintain Amada’s quality standards while driving cost-reduction and process-improvement initiatives. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Operational Oversight Workflow Management: Direct and manage warehousing, prepping, picking, packing, shipping, and receiving to meet daily productivity and quality goals. Production Synchronization: Coordinate with Management to ensure the production schedule is maintained; proactively mediate and solve bottlenecks. Inventory Control: Manage the forecasting and requisition of serialized and non-serialized materials. Maintain a focus on lowering inventory levels relative to sales. Performance Tracking: Prepare monthly reports on key logistics KPIs (inventory accuracy, delivery performance, freight costs) and implement corrective actions. Leadership & Strategy Team Supervision: Assign duties, monitor staff efficiency, and ensure the team is cross-trained on all executed processes. Budgetary Support: Assist the Manager in estimating staffing requirements, production times, and costs to develop semi-annual budget plans. Process Improvement: Lead optimization projects (Lean/Kanban) and Logistics Supplier Development to improve the overall production control cycle. Compliance: Ensure all operations conform to ISO 9001:2015 standards and corporate organizational policies. Safety & Communication Safety Leadership: Enforce corporate environmental, health, and safety programs to maintain an injury-free environment. Language Policy: Employees are to speak English during emergencies and while performing job duties where potential for an emergency exists. KNOWLEDGE Technical Proficiency: Advanced knowledge of manufacturing warehousing concepts, ERP, and Kanban. Proficiency in MS Office (Excel, Word, PowerPoint) is required. Logistics Expertise: Experience with Infor SyteLine and Lean Management principles is highly preferred. Physical Requirements: Ability to operate an overhead crane and forklift (training provided). Must be able to lift up to 50 lbs unassisted on a daily basis. Soft Skills: Strong leadership, delegation, and analytical skills. Must be detail-oriented and able to work harmoniously in a fast-paced team environment. WORK ENVIORNMENT Monday - Friday 8:00am - 5:00pm $28.00-$32.00/HR EDUCATION Experience: Minimum of 5 years of logistics experience within a manufacturing environment. Education: BS degree preferred, or equivalent professional experience. Reporting Relationship Reports to: Logistics Manager or Production Control Manager. Subordinate Staff: Logistics department members.
