About The Position

The Loop Truck Driver is responsible for the safe and efficient transportation of goods and equipment in compliance with Department of Transportation (DOT) regulations. This position involves driving company vehicles, maintaining accurate logs, inspecting vehicles for mechanical issues, and ensuring timely deliveries.

Requirements

  • Valid Class A Commercial Driver's License (CDL).
  • Must be able to safely operate trucks equipped with a manual transmission.
  • Valid TWIC card or ability to obtain a TWIC card within 90 days of employment.
  • Minimum of 1 year of experience as a truck driver (long-haul, regional, or local driving experience).
  • Knowledge of DOT regulations, including vehicle inspections and weight limits.
  • Clean driving record with no recent violations.
  • Ability to lift heavy objects (up to 50lbs) and perform physically demanding tasks.
  • Strong communication and customer service skills.
  • High level of attention to detail, especially when maintaining logs and completing delivery paperwork.

Responsibilities

  • Safely operate trucks in compliance with DOT regulations and company policies.
  • Transport equipment to customer locations, warehouses, or job sites in a timely and professional manner.
  • Perform pre-trip and post-trip inspections on vehicles to ensure they are safe and in good working condition.
  • Maintain accurate driver logs, vehicle inspection reports, and delivery documentation in accordance with DOT requirements.
  • Adhere to assigned delivery schedules, route plans, and customer requirements.
  • Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securement to prevent damage during transit.
  • Report any mechanical issues, safety concerns, or delivery delays to management immediately.
  • Follow safety protocols and company standards, including the use of personal protective equipment (PPE) as required.
  • Communicate with dispatchers, customers, and team members to coordinate deliveries and resolve any delivery-related issues.
  • Assist in routine vehicle maintenance and report any necessary repairs.
  • Complete the Bill of Lading when returning to homebase.
  • Stop work by challenging and stopping unsafe acts and behaviors or unsafe conditions.
  • Comply with Standard Operating Procedures defined in Responsibilities above, and company STOP WORK system.
