About The Position

As a Loss Control Consultant, you will partner with our clients to mitigate exposure and reduce their Workers’ Compensation costs as well as help them to enhance their injury prevention and management programs. You will conduct on-site and virtual surveys and consultations for existing and prospective policyholders’ operations, identify potential hazards, assess risk factors, and analyze injury data. The Loss Control Consultant will prepare and submit reports of findings and recommendations and implement service plans that address safety, prevention and mitigation of losses. You will evaluate safety programs to determine compliance based on OSHA, DOT, ANSI, and other state and local regulations. Other services provided to clients include but are not limited to Industrial Hygiene, Return to Work/Stay at Work, and Ergonomics. Additionally, you will develop industry-specific educational handouts, multimedia, and lead presentations (on-site and virtually) to train groups of individuals on a wide variety of safety and ergonomics topics. You will work collaboratively with Underwriting and Claims. Candidates to be considered must reside in Nebraska. This is a work-from-home role with frequent travel required. A company vehicle will be provided.

Requirements

  • Three or more years of relevant experience or a combination of experience and education in Occupational Health and Safety experience required.
  • Bachelor’s degree is required.
  • In-depth knowledge of operational practices for a wide range of industries including agriculture (a plus!), manufacturing, construction, education, healthcare, services, transportation, and more.
  • Proven decision-making and problem-solving skills.
  • Exceptional customer service and account management skills.
  • Great computer skills and knowledge of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook are essential.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous insurance Loss Control experience, at an insurance carrier or agency, and possession of relevant certifications such as ARM, ASP, CHI, OSHA General Industry, and/or CSP are preferred.
