About The Position

Empower students to discover their potential and pursue excellence—academically, personally, and spiritually—through high-quality teaching and authentic care. The Fellow will have meaningful opportunities to grow professionally and be well-prepared to transition into a lead teacher role within two years. Working closely with school-level administrators, the Fellow Teacher will help develop, plan, and prepare lessons in collaboration with lead teachers. In the classroom, the Fellow Teacher will partner with lead teachers to teach, re-teach, facilitate small-group instruction, and provide additional support across a variety of learning environments. The Fellow Teacher will also serve as the school’s primary substitute, providing coverage for daily teacher absences and, when needed, supporting longer-term staff leaves and/or vacancies. Fellows may work across multiple academic subjects depending on the needs of the school and the Fellow’s individual strengths and skillset.

  • Bachelor’s degree required; background in education, physical education, health, counseling, or related field preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Be prepared each day to serve primarily as a classroom substitute teacher, stepping into classrooms to provide seamless coverage whenever lead teachers or instructional assistants are absent.
  • Be ready to take on long-term substitute teaching assignments when needed, maintaining consistent instruction, routines, and relationships for students over an extended period.
  • Deliver standards-based lessons that maintain continuity of instruction and uphold the same high expectations and routines students experience with their classroom teacher.
  • Differentiate instruction to meet the diverse needs of students, including small-group and individual support.
  • Monitor, assess, and document student progress; use assessment data to inform instruction.
  • Possess a general understanding of academic standards and utilize student assessment data to inform instruction and support improved learning outcomes.
  • Seek out opportunities to integrate Biblical truth with their lessons.
  • Integrate character education and/or faith-based values into daily lessons.
  • Maintain a safe, organized, and nurturing classroom environment.
  • Manage classroom behavior in a consistent and effective manner, promoting courage, respect, integrity, and perseverance through the development and maintenance of positive relationships with students.
  • Serve as the cultural and spiritual model for their students, always interacting respectfully and striving to demonstrate God’s love to their students and families.
  • Effectively communicate with parents and guardians about student progress, behavior, and needs.
  • Maintain a high level of ethical behavior and confidentiality of information about students.
  • Be open to coaching and feedback to continuously improve teaching practices and support positive student outcomes.
  • Participate in ongoing professional development to implement instruction with fidelity.

  • Monitor and support students during morning arrival, lunch, recess and dismissal.
