Apply today. The Emergency Department at Banner - University Medical Center Tucson campus is an 80 bed unit, seeing approximately 73,000 patients a year. We care for all ages and treat the urgent and emergent medical and behavioral health patients. The ED is a designated Level 1 Adult Trauma Center, as well as a Comprehensive stroke, cancer and cardiac center. We have been nationally recognized for providing exceptional patient care, teaching future health care professionals and conducting groundbreaking research. In addition to our Adult Emergency Department, we have a Pediatric Emergency Department. We are an accredited Pediatric Prepared Advanced Care facility and a Level 2 Pediatric Trauma Center. We have a 16 bed pod housed in the northern most area of the main Emergency Department. During busier times of the year we also run a pediatric fast track with a mid-level provider and nurse. We have Child Life services available Monday- Friday and depend on our Pediatric ER nurses to provide the highest level of specialized care to our pediatric population. POSITION SUMMARY This position provides nursing care under the direction and supervision of a registered nurse and/or licensed physician, and is accountable for the quality of nursing services delivered by self or others who are under his or her direction. This position observes, contributes to the plan of care, implements, reports and documents patient care in accordance with department policies, standard of care and state scope of practice. This position utilizes specialized knowledge, judgment, and nursing skills necessary to contribute to the assessment of data and to plan, provide and evaluate care appropriate to the physical and developmental age of assigned patients.
