Specially trained Gastroenterologists and general surgeons perform endoscopic procedures at Cleveland Clinic Akron General. Endoscopy is a minimally invasive procedure used to help physicians more thoroughly explore internal areas of the body, such as the colon, esophagus and small bowel. Endoscopy RNs and LPNs staff the pre-surgical area, 3 procedure rooms and the post-operative area with 8 bays. As an LPN on the team, you will assist fellow caregivers in providing exceptional, top-quality care to a diverse patient population. In this role, you can make a lasting difference in the lives of patients, all while enhancing your nursing skills through hands-on experience and numerous educational resources offered within the Cleveland Clinic system. A caregiver in this position works days from 7:00 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. with on-call weekend and holiday requirements. Start/end times may vary based on the needs of the department.

Requirements

  • Graduate of an accredited practical or vocational nursing program
  • Current Ohio license as a Licensed Practical Nurse
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) OR the American Red Cross

  • One year of patient care experience

Responsibilities

  • Collect, document and report patient data and observations.
  • Implement care plans as directed by an RN and contribute to care plan revisions.
  • Administer medications and/or treatments authorized by a provider and observe patients for adverse reactions.
  • Perform routine laboratory tests.
  • Educate patients and family members.
