About The Position

The University of Iowa Health Care is seeking a patient-centered 60% Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) to work in ou r QuickCare (Walk-in) Clinics. Our Licensed Practical Nurses are responsible to help a wide variety of patients from newborn to geriatric, ensure patient care standards are met, and provide access to additional care options. This position is part of a dynamic and fast-paced environment, rich with opportunities for learning and growth. We utilize a multidisciplinary approach to patient care that encourages teamwork between multiple disciplinary teams to provide the most comprehensive care to our patients. Standard shifts will be primarily 10 - 12 hour shifts, but could vary based on clinic need. Requirements

Licensed as a Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN) with the Iowa Board of Nursing, or eligible for temporary work permit.
Responsible to take the required continuing education hours to maintain a valid LPN certification.
Basic Cardiac Life Support provider.
Driver's License and ability to meet UI Fleet Safety Standards.
Availability to provide support to other clinical locations based on clinical need/hours.

Nice To Haves

Minimum one year experience as a Licensed Practical Nurse/LPN.

Responsibilities

Provides nursing care under the supervision of a registered professional nurse.
Participates in the development of nursing care plans and in the implementation of therapeutic program for patients.
In less complex situations, may assume responsibility for directing and supervising assigned nursing personnel.
In more complex situations, performs as an assistant to the registered professional nurse.
