About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to facilitate day to day operations on the floor in planning, organizing, direction and coordinating guest / resident Care in The Retreat. This position is Part Time, Sun / Mon 12-hour shifts with the opportunity to pick up more shifts as a floor nurse.

Requirements

  • The employee must be at least 18 years of age, as position operates potentially hazardous equipment.
  • The employee must be able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously and be able to work under time and/or deadline pressures.
  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is frequently required to stand at least 90% of the shift; use hands to finger; handle or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, bend, squat, crouch, or crawl; talk and hear.
  • The employee must frequently lift up to 10 pounds, rarely lift up to 20 pounds, occasionally lift up to 40 pounds, but rarely lift more than 40 pounds.
  • The employee must occasionally reach above shoulder height, frequently reach from chest to shoulder, frequently reach from waist to chest, and frequently reach below waist level.
  • The employee must occasionally carry up to 12 pounds but rarely carry up to 20 pounds.
  • The employee must frequently push / pull up to 20 pounds, and frequently push up to 40 pounds but rarely push over 40 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required of this position include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Current unencumbered Montana RN/LPN License.
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR certification.
  • A minimum of 2 years of experience in long term care/skilled nursing.
  • Possess knowledge of the health care environment, long term care regulations, and care delivery systems as they apply to the clinical practices on the unit.
  • Ability to employ critical thinking skills, decision making and professional judgment.
  • Graduation from high school or GED preferred.

  • Work as a facilitator with the goal to have the floor function as efficiently as possible to benefit the guests/residents.
  • Create an environment of collaboration and mentorship.
  • Support customer service guidelines by developing patient/resident and family relations, supporting the care team to provide exemplary customer service and demonstrating proactive service recovery.
  • Work the floor if there is a licensed nurse opening that has not been filled.
  • Implement resident/guest plan of care or assist other licensed personnel in implementing the plan of care
  • Round units every morning, provide nursing report to the IDT team in clinical meeting.
  • Assist with admissions throughout the day such as room ready, equipment needed in room, pharmacy notification, orders in PCC.
  • Assist with discharges and education of guest/resident as needed by the nursing team.
  • Monitor unit dashboard and follow up on incomplete UDA’s, charting MAR/TAR/POC.
  • Assists with treatments i.e., catheter changes, IV starts, dressing changes, immunizations etc.
  • Draw blood on Monday and Wednesday morning and take it to lab if needed.
  • Complete/assist with wound rounds on Wednesday.
  • Assist in dining rooms with meals, passing trays/feeding residents/guests.
  • Complete follow up by the end of the day.
  • Review provider folders daily, and round with provider as needed.
  • Oversee units to allow direct care nurses to leave unit for 30-minute lunch, as well as attending care conference.
  • Adhere to State and Federal rules and regulations concerning delivery of resident care and assure that nursing services are provided and documented accordingly.
  • Evaluate nursing care delivery by administering resident care audits and perform focused rounds in the unit/facility to ensure that the safety, comfort and needs of patients/residents and families are provided in a timely, courteous and professional manner.
  • Maintain a visible and participatory presence on the unit and address needs or concerns in a timely manner.
  • Maintain adherence of nursing practice on the unit according to the Montana State Nurse Practice Act, the State Board of Nursing regulations, the regulatory standards governing Immanuel Living and the application of the standards to the policies and procedures.
