About The Position

Responsible for medical services associated with daily appointments, such as, but not limited to: allergy/general injections, vaccines, counseling/education , pregnancy tests, contraceptive supplies/injections, blood pressures and BP monitoring education, and phlebotomy. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties may be assigned. Performs nursing medical procedures, within scope of practice, as ordered by the medical provider; injections, phlebotomy, port flushes, EKG’s, dressing changes, on-site laboratory tests, vital signs, ear lavage, stitch removal, etc. Explain procedure to clients and answers questions. Counsels clients on health maintenance and health care issues. Maintains and records applicable client information in the electronic medical record in an orderly fashion and according to the guidelines. Maintains clinical tracking for client services: follow-up, preventive health, etc. Keep open communication with providers for anything abnormal, in which patient may need to be assessed for prior to departing the clinic. Dispenses non-prescriptive medication/contraceptives per pharmacy guidelines. Dispenses prescriptive medication/contraceptive if RN. If an LPN, an RN or Medical Provider must be on-site per pharmacy guidelines. Replenishes supplies/sterilizes equipment. Follows autoclaving instructions. Performs other job-related tasks as assigned, as time allows and within scope of practice. Follows agency, State and Federal policies, procedures and guidelines including, but not limited to, clinical, health & safety, pharmacy, nursing and laboratory. Works within the scope of practice of an RN, LPN or MA, as appropriate and within agency guidelines. Performs other job-related tasks as assigned, as time allows.

Requirements

  • Licensed in the State of NH as an RN or LPN.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to relate well with people and maintain client confidentiality.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to express ideas clearly, both in writing and orally, be able to work independently, and remain flexible with clinical/agency changes.
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
  • Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.
  • Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists.
  • Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
