Requirements
- Completion of an accredited Practical Nursing program (usually 12–18 months).
- Passing the NCLEX-PN licensing exam.
- State licensure as an LPN.
- Compassion and patient care skills
- Attention to detail
- Strong communication
- Ability to work under pressure
- Basic clinical and technical skills
Responsibilities
- Monitor vital signs (blood pressure, temperature, pulse, respiration) and report changes to supervisors.
- Administer prescribed medications and injections as directed by physicians or RNs.
- Assist patients with bathing, dressing, feeding, and mobility.
- Change dressings, insert catheters, collect specimens for lab testing, and assist with minor procedures.
- Maintain accurate patient records and update charts with treatments, symptoms, and progress.
- Educate patients and families about care plans, medications, and recovery processes.
- Assist doctors and registered nurses with examinations and treatments.
