Location Requirement: This role requires on‑site work in Richmond, CA. Only candidates currently residing within commuting distance or already planning a move to the Bay Area will be considered. The lube technician shall be responsible for the service and lubrication of company owned vehicles and equipment to company standards. The lube technician plays a key role in equipment performance & reliability. Working as a team player to identify maintenance needs and providing information so that decisions can be made and downtime minimized. Maintenance activities will be coordinated through the Equipment Manager.

Requirements

  • Minimum five years experience in automotive and/or heavy equipment industry. Heavy equipment experience preferred.
  • Valid California drivers license with a clean MVR.
  • Participate in training and continuing education to enhance the skills necessary to effectively perform the duties of the position.
  • Ability to work collaboratively with others in a team environment.
  • Strong verbal communication skills. Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operation and maintenance manuals.
  • Takes initiative to understand all aspects of what needs to be done to complete an assignment.
  • Self starter with a learning attitude.
  • Planning, organization and time management skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Heavy equipment experience preferred.
  • Technical and/or Trade School experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Perform service, lubrication & minor maintenance on company vehicles, equipment and tools. All equipment should be safe and in good working condition. All repairs will be scheduled and coordinated through the Equipment Manager. Notify the Equipment Manager of any vandalism or abuse of vehicles, equipment and tools.
  • Create service routes; working collaboratively with project supervision & the operations coordinator to perform required tasks & minimize downtime.
  • Support the tool and equipment department as needed. Delivery & pick-up work, yard and shop housekeeping and various tasks to maximize the efficiency of the yard operations.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area. The shop, yard and service truck are to be kept clean, organized and safe at all times.
  • Maintain stock of necessary consumables for maintenance. Oil, oil filters, air filters and other high use parts shall be kept on site in an organized manner.
