Lubrication Laboratory Technician
About The Position
Augment Professional Services (APS) is seeking a Lubrication Laboratory Technician to support testing and analysis of automotive lubricant products and chemical formulations. This role will assist R&D chemists and laboratory leadership in conducting laboratory tests, documenting results, and maintaining laboratory equipment. The Lab Technician will perform lubricant performance testing, viscosity analysis, and quality verification procedures to support product development and quality assurance initiatives. The role requires attention to detail, adherence to laboratory safety protocols, and the ability to accurately document and report test results. This position plays a key role in supporting ongoing product development and ensuring that lubricant formulations meet performance and quality standards required for automotive applications.
Requirements
- Associate or Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry, Chemical Technology, or related scientific field
- 1–4 years of laboratory experience in chemical, lubricant, or petroleum testing environments
- Familiarity with ASTM testing procedures
- Experience handling laboratory equipment and instrumentation
- Ability to document and analyze laboratory test results
- Strong organizational and laboratory safety practices
Nice To Haves
- Experience working with automotive lubricants, engine oils, or industrial fluids
- Familiarity with tribology testing methods
- Experience with viscosity measurement equipment and lubricant analysis tools
- Experience supporting R&D or product development teams
- Knowledge of chemical laboratory safety protocols
