About The Position

Overview: We are seeking a reliable Yard Associate to support daily yard operations by assisting customers, pulling orders, and safely loading and unloading materials. This role plays a key part in providing excellent service while maintaining an organized and safe yard environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• Basic math, communication, and computer skills (MS Office/basic systems)
• Knowledge of safe lifting techniques
• Frequently lift, carry, push, and pull up to 75 lbs
• Ability to work with others to lift items over 75 lbs
• Frequent walking, climbing, balancing, kneeling, crouching, and reaching
• Ability to work outdoors in all weather conditions

Nice To Haves

• 6+ months forklift experience preferred
• 6+ months experience with building materials (construction, retail, or sales) preferred

Responsibilities

• Assist customers with orders and returns while providing exceptional customer service
• Pull and stage orders accurately by item type, style, and quantity
• Operate forklift to load/unload trucks and rail cars; verify counts and inspect for damage
• Assist drivers with loading and unloading materials, ensuring loads are safely secured for delivery
• Restock inventory and return materials to proper locations
• Complete required paperwork (orders filled, materials received, forklift inspections)
• Maintain a clean, organized yard and follow all safety procedures
• Assist with snow removal and ice control during winter months
• Perform other duties as assigned
