About The Position

At Blue Origin, we envision millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth. We’re working to develop reusable, safe, and low-cost space vehicles and systems within a culture of safety, collaboration, and inclusion. Join our team of problem solvers as we add new chapters to the history of spaceflight! This role is part of the Lunar Permanence business unit, which develops Blue Origin’s Blue Moon landers and related products. To further Blue Origin's mission of millions of people living and working in space for the benefit of Earth, we are building sustainable infrastructure for our transport of crew and cargo from Earth to the lunar surface. As part of a hardworking team of Mission Operations development engineers, you will collaborate closely with space vehicle design and operations training teams, representing the interests of current and future flight crews in all aspects of spacecraft development and operations. You will participate in vehicle design and operations reviews, providing actionable feedback on Crew Systems and/or Extra-Vehicular Activity (EVA) hardware and software. Specific areas of concern are contingency (crew survival) procedures, crew workstation software, and display formats for vehicle system management. You will work closely with vehicle engineering teams and NASA to develop operations concepts and training for crew operations. You will assist in the development of training plans and course materials, as well as delivery of Crew Systems and/or EVA classes. You will need to certify as an instructor and serve as a member of the flight crew instructor cadre. Finally you will help guide the development of Blue MCC support for EVA and/or Crew System operations, expecting to certify as a flight controller and/or flight control team instructor and support console operations.
