About The Position

RÖDL USA is seeking an Experienced M&A Tax Manager to join our team and drive excellence in tax strategies for complex transactions. This role is ideal for a tax professional who enjoys deep dive diligence work, issue identification, and translating technical tax findings into actionable deal insights. As the M&A Tax Manager, you will play a pivotal role in advising clients on the tax implications of mergers, acquisitions, divestitures, and other significant transactions. Engagement work will focus on federal and state tax due diligence for buy‑side and sell‑side transactions with occasional exposure to international tax due diligence. You will lead project teams, collaborate across departments, and ensure that client deliverables are accurate, timely, and insightful. Workplace and Employment Type: Our headquarters is in Atlanta, GA. The preferred candidate is local to the Atlanta office with on-site availability. Workplace to be determined as we do offer flexible work arrangements as a benefit. The preferred candidate is full-time; however, part-time candidates will also be considered.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or a related field
  • 5+ years of tax experience, with a focus on M&A or transaction advisory Strong Excel skills, including advanced functions, financial modeling, and data analysis
  • Exceptional writing skills with the ability to draft clear, concise, and well-structured reports, memos, and client communications
  • Proficiency with tax research tools and software
  • Ability to prioritize issues, assess risk, and develop practical recommendations in fast‑paced environments, often with incomplete or evolving information
  • Proven ability to manage multiple priorities, lead teams, and communicate effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
  • Analytical thinker, detail-oriented, and client-focused with strong interpersonal and problem-solving abilities

Nice To Haves

  • CPA, JD, or similar certification is preferred
  • Public accounting or consulting firm experience is preferred

Responsibilities

  • Lead federal and state tax due diligence engagements, including data room review, preparation of information requests, risk assessment, and drafting of clear, decision‑ready due diligence reports and memoranda
  • Lead and manage multiple client engagements, ensuring deliverables are completed on time and within budget
  • Develop and maintain strong client relationships, serving as a trusted advisor
  • Research complex federal and state tax issues and develop creative solutions tailored to client needs
  • Review financial models and ensure tax implications are accurately incorporated
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to provide a holistic approach to transaction advisory services
  • Mentor and develop junior staff, fostering a culture of learning and growth
