About The Position

GERSON, a global supplier of filtration products such as N95 respirators and consumables used in surface finishing, has an excellent opportunity for a full-time and Machine Maintenance Mechanic – Technician to join our team on the night shift. The selected candidate will be comfortable working on, troubleshooting and diagnosing operating problems in complex high-speed, automated converting equipment encompassing utilizing both PLC and traditional mechanical controls in a wide range of processes such as ultrasonic assembly, computer vision inspection systems, web and tension controls, rotary die-cutting, hot-melt gluing and in-line packaging systems.

Requirements

• Knowledge of tools ranging from common hand tools and power tools to electrical testing devices and precision measuring instruments
• Good knowledge of electronics
• PLC controls
• Good mechanical diagnostic skills

Nice To Haves

• Knowledge of operating machine shop equipment, such as milling machines including Proto Trak, lathes, grinders, welding etc.
• Machine Shop skills

Responsibilities

• Perform routine preventive maintenance as scheduled and in a timely manner to ensure continuous efficient operation
• Maintain plant equipment to provide efficient operations
• Inspect, operate, and test equipment to diagnose machine malfunctions
• Assist in the selection and installation of new equipment and equipment upgrades
• Assemble, repair, and install various electronic components, motors and mechanical drives, chains, and other mechanical devices.
• Practice good housekeeping of the maintenance shop and other common work areas to maintain a safe work environment
