Requirements

  • 3+ years industrial maintenance experience; strong CNC maintenance preferred.
  • Strong mechanical aptitude with knowledge of electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
  • Ability to read mechanical drawings and electrical schematics.
  • Strong troubleshooting and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficient using multimeters, dial indicators, torque tools, and precision measurement devices.
  • Comfortable using computers for work orders and PM documentation.
  • Able to work independently with minimal supervision.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with Haas, Fanuc, Mazak, Okuma, or similar platforms is a plus.

Responsibilities

  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, hydraulic, and pneumatic issues on CNC machines.
  • Repair/replace components such as spindles, motors, bearings, belts, pumps, solenoids, gearboxes, sensors, tool changers, and coolant systems.
  • Perform spindle checks, lubrication system inspections, and axis alignment.
  • Troubleshoot alarms/error codes using CNC diagrams, manuals, and diagnostic tools.
  • Respond quickly to machine breakdowns to reduce downtime.
  • Complete scheduled PMs for lubrication, coolant systems, hydraulics, chip conveyors, filters, and way covers.
  • Inspect equipment for wear, leaks, overheating, contamination, or early failure indicators.
  • Document findings, corrective actions, and parts used.
  • Support improvements to PM procedures focused on CNC reliability.
  • Perform basic electrical work (low-voltage troubleshooting, fuses/breakers, wiring checks).
  • Partner with Operators, Leads, and Supervisors to understand CNC performance concerns.
  • Provide guidance to Maintenance Technicians on mechanical issues.
  • Participate in root-cause investigations for recurring equipment failures.
  • Support CI projects aimed at improving uptime, tool life, and reliability.
  • Follow all safety procedures, Lockout/Tagout, and PPE requirements.
  • Maintain organized, clean work areas and report hazards immediately.
  • Enter work orders, repair notes, and PM updates into maintenance systems.
  • Provide clear communication to the Maintenance Director on machine status and recommendations.
  • Maintain accurate logs and shift handoff notes.
