Summary: Responsible for taking ownership of assigned machinery and tasked production goals. Ensures all company policies and food safety protocols are followed while partnering with both production management and QC team to identify and eliminate risks while meeting production goals. Physical Demands of Position: Able to use hand and finger/eye coordinator while looking at defects and/or contamination of all product. Performing strenuous, physical work throughout whole shift that requires use of arms and legs and moving your whole body, such as lifting, balancing, walking, stooping, bending, stretching, twisting, pushing, pulling, carrying objects, and handling materials. While performing the duties of this job the employee is required to stand and walk. The employee is required to touch, handle and feel, and to be able to reach with hands and arms. The employee is occasionally required to talk and hear. The employee must regularly lift items that may range from 10 to 65 pounds and push rolling stock bins that may weigh between 600 to 650 pounds. Specific visual inspection required by this job includes close and at far distances, depth perception and the ability to focus at all times. Due to surrounding work area, product and processes, must be comfortable working around extreme heat, oil and water. Candidate Qualifications: Required: Basic reading and writing ability required. Able to consistently perform the functions in the above "Responsibilities list and Physical demands list" Basic Math Skills Learn - be able to distinguish between the different kinds of nuts, seeds, etc. Learn - the testing and cleaning procedures. High school diploma or GED Preferred: Experience in food manufacturing preferred but not required. Understanding of the SQF (Safe Quality Food Program) Other Knowledge, Skills or Abilities Required: Follows established guidelines in the operation of equipment used during processes. Produces product according to the SQF safety and quality management guidelines. Performs in-process inspections as defined to ensure the product meets requirements before sending to production. Follows established quality system documentation relative to area of responsibility, (i.e. work instructions, procedures, forms, etc). Operators will communicate throughout their shift when issues arise. Knowledge of all equipment and machinery in that area, (oil levels, product flows and belt speeds for each product. Must be able to read and understand the production ticket for quality of the food (e.g., allergens, salt, no salt, etc.)
