About the role: Sets up and operates machining centers that produce and clean finished parts to meet daily production requirements.

Requirements

  • H.S. diploma or GED with a minimum of one year of machine operator experience with related equipment.
  • Applicants must be authorized to work for ANY employer in the U.S.
  • We are unable to sponsor or take over sponsorship of an employment visa at this time.

Nice To Haves

  • As applicable to machines, including but not limited to press brakes and saws.

Responsibilities

  • Sets up and operates a variety of bar and chucking turret lathes, screw machines, engine lathes, automatic turning equipment, bending-forming equipment, shearing, milling, punching, drilling, and sawing equipment on a wide range of shapes and sizes of materials.
  • Works from blueprints, templates, and layout materials for best usage.
  • Adjust the machine and stop.
  • Use a hand-powered truck or a crane to move materials.
  • Use a variety of sheets and plates, ranging from light to heavy.
  • Uses scales, calipers, and micrometers for stock thickness and quality workmanship.
  • Responsible for machine adjustment and maintenance.
  • Assists and trains other operators as directed.
  • Keep an accurate inventory of tools, jigs, fixtures, and programs run on the machines.
  • Move material as required.
  • Check quality and workmanship.
  • Performs 5S within the assigned area.
  • Always acts in a professional and courteous manner, representing the highest standards of business conduct; exhibits a positive attitude, sharing information with co-workers as appropriate, and works to promote a cooperative, productive teamwork environment.
  • An expert on the job makes the most of knowledge and experience, works to learn new duties, assists with the training of others, and adapts to changing conditions quickly and easily.
  • Consistently does an excellent job, the output is unusually high and exceptionally fast, and rarely makes errors or creates rejected work.
  • Always observes safe work practices and rules, has no accidents, and wears personal protective equipment.
  • Participate in the Suggestion Program (STAR) by submitting product improvement or safety ideas.
