Machine Operator l, 1st Shift
About The Position
We are looking for self-motivated and safety-conscious candidates who would like to join our production team in our Buckeye, AZ location! New employees can earn 55K in total compensation when working at Canam Steel Corp for a 40-50 hour work week. This includes the base rate, shift differential, overtime, retention and production bonuses. There are additional ways to earn including referral bonuses and mentoring incentives. Position is full-time with benefits! 1st Shift 8 hour shift schedule: Monday - Friday 5:00 AM - 1:30 PM 9 hour shift schedule: Monday - Thursday Day shift - 5:00 AM - 2:30 AM Friday 5:00 AM - 1:30PM Mandatory alternating Saturdays Day shift - 5:00 AM - 1:30PM Must be able to work all shift schedules
Requirements
- No experience necessary. On the job training provided.
- Ability to pass an internal 1G welding test.
- Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out written and oral instructions.
Responsibilities
- Read and interpret weld symbols on technical drawings and blueprints.
- Configure welding machines and equipment.
- Perform welding operations using MIG welding techniques to conform to specified dimensions.
- Ensure all welds are complete and meet required quality standards.
- Repair bad welds as necessary.
- Use and operate various cutting equipment (oxy/acetylene torch, Air Arc, or plasma cutter).
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Adhere to safety protocols.
- Assist with the annual inventory audit process.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervisor.
- Regular, reliable, punctual and consistent attendance. Must be able to work regular and/or flexible hours or shifts, overtime, weekends as required.
