About The Position

General Summary: This is an hourly position in Manteno, IL that reports to the Production Manager. This position is a multi-skilled position responsible for the operation & quality control of all the Packaging Equipment & systems required in the process of making mustard finished goods. This person should be production oriented, educated in food safety defense, have good leadership skills & willing to work closely with the other Packaging Operators. Operate all packaging systems including unscramblers, fillers, cappers, sleevers, case formers, packers, case shrink wrappers, & palletizer. Scope of Job Function: Startup & shutdown of Packaging equipment following Safety & Quality guidelines. Perform the above in a manner to maintain consistent productivity & quality standards. Perform quality checks such as package fill weight, induction seal, bottle code, box code, etc. Keep accurate production & quality records. Maintain housekeeping standards in the Packaging area. Participate as an active member of the Production Team. Participate in Quality & Productivity improvement efforts. Follow all written & verbal Packaging production priorities for the day & week. Monitor & turn in all production & quality sheets for the shift. Turn in all Quality samples. Inform Production Manager of all personnel issues. Willing to work closely with the other Packaging Operators. Complete timesheet for packaging personnel on the shift each day & turn in. Assist in finding coverage for shift to fill in for absences & vacations. A good working & communication relationship with Maintenance & the Production Driver. Other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • Must have a high school diploma or GED equivalent.
  • Knowledge of manufacturing environment preferred.
  • Effective verbal, written, listening, & interpersonal communication skills.
  • Ability to work well with other departments within the company.
  • Ability to work off shifts, weekends, & holidays if required.
  • Knowledge of food safety defense.
  • Must be self-directed.
