Team members interested in transferring into this position from another Tyson facility should express interest through their local HR Partner. Position Summary The Machine Operator is responsible for setting up, operating, and monitoring automated production equipment in a food manufacturing environment. This role ensures machines run efficiently, products meet quality standards, and all work is performed safely and in compliance with Tyson policies.

Requirements

  • Mechanical and technical aptitude.
  • Ability to troubleshoot minor machine issues and make adjustments.
  • Basic math skills and legible handwriting.
  • Ability to gather, record, and report operational and quality data.
  • Ability to read and follow written instructions, understand verbal directions, and communicate effectively.
  • Ability to understand written policies, guidelines, specifications, and safety standards.
  • Positive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work in accordance with all quality, safety, and sanitation standards.
  • Lift up to 50 lbs regularly.
  • Stand, walk, bend, and perform repetitive motions for a 12‑hour shift.
  • Work in cold, warm, wet, or noisy environments.
  • Reach and adjust equipment as needed.
  • Must have 4.75 points or less
  • No Written Warnings in the last 6 months
  • No Suspensions in the last year

Nice To Haves

  • Experience with touch‑screen equipment or scaling systems preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Set up, operate, and adjust automated production machinery.
  • Monitor production lines and make minor mechanical adjustments as needed.
  • Program machines for correct size, weight, codes, and dates.
  • Perform basic quality checks and record production data.
  • Verify proper machine setup after sanitation.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area.
  • Follow production schedules, work instructions, and safety guidelines.
  • Complete required paperwork and report hourly production updates.
  • Perform changeovers and assist other operators as needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
