About The Position

The Machine Operator is responsible for processing various web-based materials on the converting equipment including Re-winder/slitter/perforator (Pinnacle I); Re-winder/hot knife slitter (Pinnacle II); Log slitter (Collinscraft); CNC cutting machine (Gerber). Schedule: Monday-Friday 8-5pm

Requirements

  • 2-5 years of experience in a Machine Operator position, or similar role.
  • Familiarity using converting equipment including re-winder/slitter/perforator, re-winder/hot knife slitter, log slitter, CNC cutting machine.
  • Experience with composites or slitting.
  • Excellent collaboration and communication skills (written and verbal).
  • This job requires that equipment operation is done in accordance with manufacturers’ safety guidelines and that safety precautions are taken when handling materials according to the respective MSDS.

Nice To Haves

  • Pinnacle, Collinscraft, and Gerber preferred tools.
  • Forklift certification is preferred, not required.

Responsibilities

  • Perform all duties following all established safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Use Manufacturing Schedule to schedule the processing of assemblies in the order dictated by Planning.
  • Work with planning to ensure that BOMs and assemblies are accurate.
  • Manage raw material inventory including: 1) receiving into inventory 2) locating in proper location 3) utilizing and converting when necessary the correct units of measure.
  • Review other raw material inventory such as packaging items (tubes, bubble wrap, etc.) and notify Purchasing when supply runs down to a point of re-ordering.
  • Set up appropriate machine using standard operating procedures.
  • Run machine in the most efficient manner while maintaining safe operation and producing quality product.
  • Inspect product while in-process including visual inspection, width, length and other properties as needed.
  • Notify Management as necessary when there are issues with raw material quality, equipment operation or anything that inhibits safe operation of the equipment and/or making appropriate quality of the finished product.
  • Unload, package and properly label converted product after processing.
  • Key appropriate information into ERP system so that converted product inventory will be accurately identified in the system for inventory control.
  • Return unused raw material to proper location in the warehouse.
  • Complete necessary documentation with regards to quality yield and production time in the Inspection Summary and Daily Output Report for each machine.
