We are looking to add exceptional entry level talent to our team for the 3rd shift in our manufacturing plant located in Valparaiso, IN! No experience required - we train everyone on site! Shift: Sunday - Wednesday, 11:00pm - 7:00am Job Summary: The Machine Operator is responsible for operating and monitoring plastic injection molding machines to produce quality parts in a safe and efficient manner. This role includes inspecting parts for defects, monitoring machine performance, packaging finished parts and maintaining a clean and organized work area. The Machine Operator works closely with supervisors, floor staff and management to meet production goals and ensure the correct products are inspected, packed and labeled accurately for customer orders.

Requirements

  • No manufacturing experience required; on-the-job training will be provided
  • Ability to follow written and verbal instructions carefully
  • Willingness to learn to operate injection molding machines, banding equipment, and other supporting production equipment
  • Ability to perform repetitive tasks accurately and consistently
  • Ability to work safely and follow company safety procedures, including use of PPE
  • Reliable attendance and punctuality
  • Willingness to rotate between shifts, if needed
  • Ability to work as part of a team and independently with effective communication skills with co-workers, supervisors, and management
  • Physical ability to stand for long periods, lift moderately, and handle parts safely
  • High school diploma or GED, required

Responsibilities

  • Operate plastic injection molding machines in a safe and productive manner and any other supporting equipment, per job requirements
  • Monitor machine performance, cycle times and part quality throughout shift
  • Perform visual inspections and quality checks to identify defects and/or non-confirming parts
  • Trim, clean, band, assemble, label, count, and package products in assembled boxes in an accurate manner and according to job work instructions
  • Maintain accurate production counts and complete required production documentation
  • Monitor and inspect material levels throughout shift to maintain efficient machine performance
  • Report any machine issues, material problems, or quality concerns to supervisors and/or other appropriate floor personnel
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and orderly work area at all times
  • Follow all safety procedures, PPE requirements, and other company policies
  • Perform other related duties, as assigned
