These values are the cornerstone of Plastic Ingenuity. The purpose of this position is to provide day to day guidance to the Mold making shop by leading a team of mold makers and diemakers.

Requirements

  • Two year degree from a technical program in mold making, mold repair, or machine tool and die is preferred or equivalent education is required.
  • Knowledge of operations of programming aids and CNC equipment is required.
  • Attention to detail is crucial
  • Demonstrated ability to oversee project scheduling and provide direction
  • Required ability to effectively engage with staff members to enhance productivity, as well as gaining their cooperation and support.

Responsibilities

  • Works alongside team members as a moldmaker or diemaker building and completing tools and additional components.
  • Assigns work to shop members along with the Shop Coordinator and monitors individual progress.
  • Works at the same standard requirements and expectations as the members of the team.
  • Provides technical training and assistance to staff members.
  • Embraces and instills good manufacturing practices to ensure product safety.
  • Actively participates in shop and engineering team leader meetings.
  • Reviews job status in progress with shop coordinator and shop supervisor to determine priorities and carry-over between shifts which requires comprehensive job status notes and coordinator efforts to complete jobs on time.
  • Evaluates performance level of staff and provides feedback/ documentation to the Director of Engineering.
  • Exhibits a positive mental attitude and role models examples through actions and communications for the team.
  • Partners with Production to produce high quality, on spec thermoformed plastic parts.
  • Ensures a safe working environment-promptly addresses any safety issues-identifying any equipment not in a safe working condition and communicating an understanding that all shop team members will share.
  • Performs additional assignments to support overall goals of the machine shop and Plastic Ingenuity.
