Just look up. Are you ready to go beyond? What You Will Do: As a Machining Team member, you will be responsible for set up and operating CNC machines in production processes. Work from verbal or written instructions, diagrams, or models. Use precision measuring tools to inspect machining operations and finished product against specified tolerances. Determines and corrects more complex machine malfunctions. Performs routine maintenance and cleaning.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • U.S. citizenship is required, as only U.S. citizens are authorized to access information under this program/contract.
  • Capability to perform basic math operations
  • Basic problem-solving skills Ability to use precision tools (e.g. calipers) to take accurate measurements
  • 1+ year/s of relevant experience in CNC (Computer Numerical Control), Lathes/MCL (Material Control Lab) machines and/or other turning/cutting equipment.

Nice To Haves

  • 6 months manufacturing experience, technical training, military training experience, or completion of Certified Manufacturing Specialist Program
  • 1 year of CNC machine operator experience that would include, but not limit to retooling, minor maintenance, changeovers, and first article inspection.
  • Ability to read blueprints, schematics, and manuals
  • Experience with MS Office Suite
  • Experience with Okuma and/or Fanuc controlled 4-Axis turning lathes

Responsibilities

  • Support operations and production process by reading and interpreting blueprints, engineering specifications, and shop orders to gather tools and supplies necessary for operations.
  • Conducts equipment inspections for proper operation and mechanical integrity.
  • May make calculations as well as assist with numeric controlled programming.
  • Monitors and verifies quality in accordance with statistical processes or other control procedures.
  • Performs preventative and predictive maintenance on machinery.
  • Gathers, compiles, and reports production information data for analysis.
  • Communicates with operators and team members to understand individual requirements.
  • Follows established guidance to promote safety and to ensure quality.
  • Follow all safety, environmental, and quality protocols to maintain a safe and clean working environment.
  • Maintain a strong focus on meeting 6S and shop cleanliness standards, including performing daily walk-arounds for preventive maintenance (PMs).
