Howmet Fastening Systems (HFS) is seeking a Machining Tech V, Auto Tap- 1st Shift at our aerospace manufacturing facility in Fullerton, CA. HFS is a business unit of Howmet Aerospace, headquartered in Torrance, California. Our high-tech, multi-material fastening systems are found nose to tail on aircraft and aerospace engines. Our products are also critical components of industrial gas turbines, automobiles, commercial transportation vehicles, and construction and industrial equipment. Summary: Conduct set-up with the aide/guidance of other experienced operators, operate various production machines and performs light bench, hand and assembly operations in the department to which assigned. Operator will be held to established production and quality standards. Operator will be trained and mainly put onto Tapping, Crimping, Stamping, Piercing & Assembly machines. Essential Duties and Responsibilities After the completion with guided set-up by others, operates various standard and specialized machines to precision tolerances and maintains machine set-ups standards. Performs minor adjustments and tool changes. Operates one or more machines according to crew size called out on work order. Performs typical operations as: Loading parts/material into bins, hoppers and feeders; removing finished parts; and operating switches, pedals, and levers, uses standard gauges to check part Observes operations for quality standards or improper processing; corrects or reports them as needed. If the malfunction cannot be corrected, stops the process and contacts supervisor. Performs other related tasks in departments to which assigned such as: Assembling, drilling, deburring, sorting, counting, etching, stamping, recording of parts processed and housekeeping Required to check multiple requirements on a part, such as: O.D., I.D., overall height, thread gauging, perpendicularity gauge, etc. Reads micrometers, indicators, plug gauges, and thread gauges. Reads work order routers and related blueprints, input information into S.P.C. charts. Performs required S.P.C. to establish machine capability for all machines in the department. Responsible for submitting "First Article Inspections" to meet print specifications. Assist factory supervision and leaders in the training of machine operators. Parts to be lifted and/or transported may weigh up to 30 lbs. Keeps work area clean, safe and in an orderly fashion on a daily basis. Performs other tasks of equal or lesser skill as required.
