Responsibilities

  • Operates CNC Routers, Edge-banders, Beam Saws, Lasers, CNC Foam Mill and hot-wire, 3D printers, Drill and Dowel machines, etc.
  • A flexible member of our machining team - cross-trained on all equipment and processes
  • Works with a sense of urgency and requires the team to meet deadlines
  • Keeps shop and work area clean and organized by leading 6S initiatives
  • Hits daily, weekly, and monthly throughput goals & targets
  • Troubleshoots production problems/issues
  • Understands our visual management systems, and becomes autonomous with own cut-list
  • Checks part quality and uphold build standard
  • Responsible for machine’s preventative maintenance
  • Being part of a team that works to drive continuous improvement
  • Learning and adhering to safety requirements
  • Interest and ability to work long hours and weekend as needed
  • Operating industrial forklifts
  • Follows all safety standards and procedures

Requirements

  • Experience in carpentry, woodworking, or in a high-intensity manufacturing setting is strongly considered but not required
  • Familiarity with computer-controlled machinery and various computer operating systems is strongly considered but not required
  • Outstanding work ethic and dependability
  • Proactive self-starter with a positive attitude
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment
  • Mechanical knowledge of machines and tools including their design, repair and maintenance (including table saw, panel saw, jointer, planer, molder, shaper and/or mortise), preferred
  • Must be willing and able to wear Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) for extended periods
  • Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
  • Ability to keep up in a fast-paced environment with the ability to multi-task and work independently
  • Extreme attention to the details
  • Computer savvy with basic understanding of computer programming
  • Sense of urgency to accurately and timely achieve results
  • Ability to make quick decisions in a rapidly changing environment
  • Mechanical aptitude and good math skills
  • A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
  • Outstanding written, email and oral communication
  • Ability to work before/after typical production hours as work may demand
