About The Position

New York State Homes and Community Renewal (HCR) is the State’s affordable housing agency, with a mission to build, preserve, and protect affordable housing and increase homeownership throughout New York State. This position is with HCR’s Affordable Housing Corporation (AHC). This is not a civil service position, and a civil service exam is not required. Candidates must meet the minimum qualifications outlined below to be considered. Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • Organizational skills and attention to detail (necessary for sorting the mail)
  • Basic computer knowledge and (for operating postage equipment and FedEx shipping software)
  • Able to lift packages (over 50lbs)
  • Good communication skills (helpful in covering reception)

Responsibilities

  • Receiving, processing, and distributing incoming mail in a timely manner.
  • Preparing and processing outdoing mail in a timely manner.
  • Deliver requested supplies to staff.
  • Stock pantries and maintain coffee stations regularly.
  • Move equipment as needed.
  • Move furniture as needed.
  • May need to drive to other locations to deliver or pick-up items or mail.
  • Cover reception desk if needed.
  • Other duties as assigned.
