About The Position

Our not-for-profit social service organization is seeking a Mailroom Clerk for the AbilityOne contract (employment for individuals with qualifying disabilities) to become valuable members of our Goodwill team! The Mailroom Clerk is responsible for processing all incoming and outgoing mail and UPS shipments. Responsibilities include providing customer service to IRS employees for deliveries and providing information relative to USPS and UPS requirements and rates. Maintains reporting of accountable mail, meter activity, and internal documents.

Requirements

  • AbilityOne documentation required – signed documentation from a medical provider that certifies that an individual has a qualifying disability (Ohio Valley Goodwill Industries Employment Services team will assist with documentation post-offer/pre-employment).
  • EDUCATION: High school graduate or GED certificate.
  • EXPERIENCE: Basic office computer skills.
  • KNOWLEDGE: Standard office procedures, keyboard, calculator, postage meters and scales. Knowledge of USPS and UPS requirements and rates.
  • Must pass extensive criminal background check.
  • You must be able to pass the Federal Clearance Background Checks.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous mail processing preferred.
  • Previous experience working in customer service preferred.
  • Prior mailroom and customer service experience.

Responsibilities

  • Receive, sort and deliver all incoming mail.
  • Process all accountable mail using the Wits System; maintain traceability.
  • Receive and sort outgoing US mail, meter mail and process for delivery, operate meter machine, and verifies correct postage.
  • Process UPS shipments using the World Ship System.
  • Verify correct addresses on shipments.
  • Process and accurately record Certified Mail.
  • Assist customers with delivery of accountable mail and TEGE parcels.
  • Provide customer service to IRS employees by answering questions in person or on the phone regarding mail center services and services of the USPS and UPS.
  • Check undelivered report to verify correct delivery.
