About The Position

The Admitting Representative ER Lead is responsible for leading the department functions and ensuring that all patients are registered timely and accurately. This role assists with the monitoring of registration accuracy, upfront collections, attendance, and punctuality. The Lead participates in the Emergency Department on call weekend and holiday rotation and supports the team by acting as a resource.

Requirements

  • Minimum two (2) years of registration experience working in a hospital setting.
  • Ability to type a minimum of 40 wpm accurately.
  • High School Diploma/GED or equivalent.
  • Excellent customer service and communications skills, ability to work with minimal supervision, strong team player, medical terminology.
  • Familiar with Computers/PCs, 10 keys, multi-line phones, faxes, printers, scanners and other office machines, use of multiple applications.
  • Proficient skills in Microsoft Office e.g., Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Visio.
  • Excellent oral, written, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to relate and communicate positively, effectively, and professionally with others; provide leadership; be assertive and consistent in enforcing policies; work calmly and respond courteously when under pressure; lead, supervise, teach, and collaborate; accept direction.
  • Excellent analytical and organization skills; excellent critical thinking, judgment, and problem-solving skills.
  • Comprehensive Crisis Management (CCM) - required within 90 days of first assignment in the Emergency Department
  • Basic Life Support (BLS).

Nice To Haves

  • Prior Lead experience.
  • Prior registration experience in an Emergency Department environment.
  • Associate degree in related field.
  • Bilingual in English/Spanish
