Maintenance and School Bus Driver (Part Time Position)

About The Position

We are looking for an experienced School Bus Driver to join our team! You will be responsible for operating the school bus (14 passenger) while being attentive to traffic and weather conditions while staying on schedule and ensuring the safety of the children. You will also be responsible for daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance of the property at Sunshine Academy. Maintenance may include upkeep of playgrounds, classroom materials, routine checks on A/C, and other small projects. Do you hold a Commercial Driver’s License or have completed a formal bus driving training? Do you have an impeccable driving record, enjoy being around children, and/or adhere to high operational and safety standards? This position maybe a good fit for you! Requirements

Available to work in the morning and afternoon (with long break in between)
Clean driving record
Ability to follow oral and written instructions, including mapping
Must pass a Level II Background Check
Ability to pass Department of Children and Families training
Ability to perform basic maintenance around the property

Nice To Haves

Preferred a CDL permit with school bus and passenger endorsement

Responsibilities

Pick up and drop off students at specific local schools
Follow safety rules as students board and exit buses
Comply with traffic regulations to operate vehicles in a safe and courteous manner
Report any bus malfunctions or needed repairs
Check the condition of a vehicle's tires, brakes, windshield wipers, lights, oil, fuel, water, and safety equipment to ensure that everything is in working order
Perform general upkeep and maintenance of the school grounds and property
