About The Position

The primary purpose of this position is to perform maintenance, modification, repair, and installation of plumbing, utility, steam, hot water, gas, heating & cooling piping, systems for two Central Regional Hospital Butner campus, Whitaker School, Camp Barham, In addition, this shop performs Welding, fabricating, millwright work, utility system installation and repair(EG: water distribution, sewer, storm drains), grading, excavating, pipefitting, major steam line repair, heavy equipment operation.

Requirements

• High school or General Educational Development (GED) diploma and two (2) years of progressive experience in the assigned trade areas; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
• May require current certification by the Environmental Protection Agency as a Type I, II, III or Universal technician as required by Title 40, Code of Federal Regulations Part 82, Subpart F.
• Valid Driver's License
• This Position Is Designated As Mandatory And Must Report Or Stay Over During Adverse Weather Events.

Nice To Haves

• Previous work experience demonstrating skills in at least two of the following areas: plumbing, steam pipe fitting, fabrication, heavy equipment operations and welding
• Working knowledge of the methods, practices, tools, and materials used in the general maintenance and repair of buildings, equipment and machinery
