Requirements

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in facility maintenance or comparable work.
  • General knowledge of facilities and custodial equipment and procedures.
  • Some knowledge of general maintenance preferred.
  • Flexible, organized, and motivated with the ability to work independently.
  • Passage of complete background clearance, physical, and TB test.
  • Support for the Codes of Ethics of Catholic Charities USA, NASW, and APA.
  • Valid driver’s license, reliable transportation, and proof of liability insurance.
  • Ability to inspect and perform basic repairs on equipment.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to prioritize work.
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

  • Attend agency training events as required.
  • Ensure that Daybreak custodial areas are completed and directed.
  • Assist with contractors, volunteers, and facilities staff as directed.
  • Responsible for maintenance and custodial upkeep of all areas of the building(s) using the work order system.
  • Schedule regular checkups on equipment and the building to maintain compliance with city and health department requirements as directed.
  • Perform an annual physical inventory of all center property and equipment.
  • Maintain agency building materials, supplies, and equipment, and purchase replacement items as required.
  • Oversee maintenance volunteer projects.
  • Maintain outside areas including sweeping sidewalks, snow removal, planting flowers, removing garbage, and trimming weeds and bushes.
  • Other duties as assigned within the guidelines of this position.
