About The Position

The Maintenance Electrical Engineer is responsible for designing, troubleshooting, optimizing, and maintaining electrical systems and equipment within the manufacturing environment. This role supports safe, reliable, and cost‑effective plant operations through technical expertise, project execution, and cross‑functional collaboration.

Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering or related field.
  • Strong understanding of industrial electrical systems. (24V through 13.2KV)
  • Ability to read technical drawings and electrical documentation.
  • Familiarity with industrial communication protocols e.g. Ethernet/IP, IO-Link, Modbus, Profibus.
  • Knowledge of relevant safety standards and regulations.
  • Strong analytical and problem solving skills.
  • Effective communication and collaboration.
  • Proficient with engineering software and Microsoft Office.
  • Sitting or standing, repetitive use of hands and arms, and eye/hand coordination for 6+ hours a day.
  • Walking required, usually < 1-2 hours a day.
  • Lifting up to 50 lbs., on occasion.
  • Occasional bending, reaching overhead, climbing ladders or stairs, crouching, balancing, pushing, or pulling.
  • Occasional travel may be required.
  • Must be willing to work overtime and be called in during off time in emergency situations.
  • Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
  • Ability to wear respirators according to respiratory protection program.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in industrial/manufacturing environment preferred.
  • PLC/controls experience preferred

Responsibilities

  • Safety & Compliance
  • Champion electrical safety practices and programs.
  • Participate in safety audits and hazard identification.
  • Ensure compliance with NFPA, NEC, OSHA and company standards.
  • Electrical Systems & Equipment
  • Lead electrical maintenance as program coordinator.
  • Design, modify, and maintain electrical distribution systems, instrumentation, and control systems.
  • Troubleshoot equipment issues, identify root causes, and implement corrective actions.
  • Support installation and commissioning of new equipment.
  • Ensure compliance with electrical codes and safety standards.
  • Manufacturing Support
  • Provide technical support to production and maintenance teams.
  • Analyze equipment performance and recommend improvements.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance strategies.
  • Project Engineering
  • Lead and support capital and improvement projects.
  • Develop project scopes, estimates, timelines, and documentation.
  • Coordinate with vendors and internal stakeholders.
  • Process Optimization & Automation
  • Support PLC, HMI, and control system upgrades.
  • Partner with process engineering for automation improvements.
  • Implement energy saving and efficiency technologies.
  • Continuous Improvement & Collaboration
  • Collaborate with other departments within the company to accomplish tasks/goals as needed
  • Suggest/implement process improvement, cost down, or best practice ideas
  • Continually strive for increasing processing efficiencies
  • Complete 5S activities to keep the work area clean and organized
