About The Position

SUMMARY: This technical career position at Tyson Foods, Inc. is responsible for troubleshooting, repairing, and providing technical support across all phases of plant operations. The role requires expertise in multiple disciplines, including electrical controls, fluid power, mechanical systems, and manufacturing processes. Success in this position depends on the ability to work effectively within a team and communicate productively with all levels of management and operations.

Requirements

  • Education and Experience: Preferred: Associate Degree in Electronic Technology or a closely related technical field. Alternatively, a combination of relevant education and hands-on experience, such as skilled trade programs, military training, or other applicable technical training.
  • Computer Skills: Proficient in Windows-based software including Outlook, Excel, and Word. Strong organizational skills with experience using document templates and creating simple queries. Must be proficient or willing to become proficient in SAP Plant Maintenance.
  • Communication Skills: Effective verbal and written communication abilities. Strong critical thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Certifications: Technical certifications are a plus and will be considered an advantage.
  • Technical Skills: Solid understanding of AC/DC circuits and industrial electrical systems. Experience with electrical safety protocols, including lockout/tagout procedures. Knowledge of electronic devices such as industrial semiconductors, solid-state drives, and control systems. Experience operating PLC systems, control instrumentation, data collection devices, and transducers. Proficient in maintenance and repair of mechanical components including bearings, gears, clutches, belts, and seals. Ability to troubleshoot and maintain hydraulic and pneumatic systems.

Nice To Haves

  • Basic microcomputer skills to understand microprocessor operations and interfacing.
  • Experience with PLC operation including system configuration, relay instructions, timers/counters, data manipulation, communications, and advanced programming.
  • Training or experience with electronic motor drive technologies such as servo motors, encoders, tachometers, electronic/mechanical brakes and clutches, closed-loop systems, DC servo, AC variable frequency, AC servo, and stepper systems.
