About The Position

Pacific Coast Producers, a growing agricultural cooperative with food production facilities across the West Coast, is seeking a talented and experienced Maintenance Electrician (LME) to join our team at our Production Facility in Salem, OR. PCP is investing in its people and advancing a culture of service, where each employee can do their best to make affordable, high-quality food for customers across North America. Our Salem facility produces maraschino cherries and other cherry products in various styles, colors, and flavors and employs between 70-100 employees. Pay Rate: $40.00 per hour. Full time/ 40 hours per week with some weekend and overtime hours required when needed. This position is part of a seniority based Collective Bargaining Unit (CBA) and requires work on various shifts. Requirements

  • Completed a related educational degree, certificate, or program; and/or comparable work experience, plus formal training in this area
  • Holds applicable licensing and certificate(s) (LME)
  • A fundamental aptitude, which may be assessed by a practical exam.
  • Experience in food production and manufacturing environment
  • Able to understand and utilize PLC programs to aid in troubleshooting.
  • Demonstrate ability to communicate effectively.
  • Reliable and able to maintain excellent attendance.
  • Self-motivated, able to work independently, and possess strong problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to lift 50lbs, sit, stand, crouch, and perform job duties with limited assistance
  • Must be able to effectively work under pressure time constraints and stressful situations.
  • Must be able to work overtime when necessary.
  • Must have good attendance and safety record

Responsibilities

  • Perform limited electrical maintenance and repairs of wiring, conduit, and various electrical systems.
  • Ability to troubleshoot and repair or install motors, switches, circuit breakers, lighting, electrical outlets.
  • Install, connect, adjust and calibrate electrical gauges and recording instruments.
  • Plan layout and installation of wiring, equipment, or fixtures based on specs and codes.
  • Use a variety of tools or equipment, such as power construction equipment, measuring devices and testing equipment, such as oscilloscopes, multi-meters, or test lamps.
  • Possess demonstrable skills for specifying and properly sizing of wire, conduit, circuit breakers and fuses per NEC and other applicable codes.
  • Read and understand blueprints and schematic diagrams.
  • Diagnose malfunctioning systems, apparatus, or components.
  • Troubleshoot and install VFD’s, motor controls systems, valves, and other electrical components.
  • Ability to troubleshoot programmable logic controllers (PLC’s), verify operation of inputs and outputs on devices through the use of a test meter.
  • High mechanical aptitude and ability to use hand tools to perform repairs
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
