About The Position

HVAC/Electrical tech will be responsible for the repair and replacement of HVAC PTACS, VTACs and the service of some larger package units. Tasks may include the following: • Test electrical circuits or components for continuity, using electrical test equipment. • Comply with all applicable standards, policies, or procedures, such as safety procedures or the maintenance of a clean work area. • Discuss heating or cooling system malfunctions with users to isolate problems or to verify that repairs corrected malfunctions. • Adjust system controls to settings recommended by manufacturer to balance system. • Recommend, develop, or perform preventive or general maintenance procedures, such as cleaning, power-washing, or vacuuming equipment, oiling parts, or changing filters. • Repair or replace defective equipment, components, or wiring. • Install, connect, or adjust thermostats, humidistats, or timers. • Record and report time, materials, faults, deficiencies, or other unusual occurrences on work orders. • Mount compressor, condenser, and other components in specified locations on frames, using hand tools and acetylene welding equipment. • Repair or service heating, ventilating, and air conditioning (HVAC) systems to improve efficiency, such as by changing filters, cleaning ducts, and refilling non-toxic refrigerants. Chula Vista is a multi facetted year round resort and duties are not limited to HVAC/Electrical. Conducting other routine resort maintenance duties may be required. Rate of pay range based on experience is $24 - $30 per hour.

Requirements

  • Must also possess the knowledge of multi voltage electrical (120v, 208/230v, 277v, ETC.).
  • HVAC Certification required, all types preferred up to universal
  • Lifting and carrying: The ability to lift or carry items of 50 pounds with or without reasonable accommodations.
  • Climbing: The ability to climb ladders, scaffolds, or stairs
  • Working in confined spaces: The ability to work in spaces like trenches, pits, manholes, attics, and tunnels
  • Responding to sounds: The ability to respond quickly to sounds
  • Working in environmental conditions: The ability to work in cold and hot environments, on concrete floors, or in noisy environments
  • Wearing personal protective gear: The ability to wear personal protective gear for most of the day
  • Manual dexterity: The ability to use fine motor abilities for detailed tasks, such as handling small or delicate objects
  • Balance and coordination: The ability to ensure stability during task performance, such as executing precise movements
  • Hearing: The ability to hear, understand, and distinguish speech and/or other sounds
  • Vision: The ability to see clearly at approximately 20 inches or less (near visual acuity) and at 20 feet or more (far visual acuity)

Nice To Haves

  • Preferred 3 years' experience trouble shooting, repairing and/or replacement HVAC systems.
