Hello! We are looking for a dedicated Maintenance Lead to join the team! Del Real Foods is a traditional Mexican food manufacturer born out of a family farm. Today, Del Real Food makes tamales, carnitas, salsas, and other recipes inspired by the Cardenas' native Jalisco -- all created by hand with fresh ingredients and nothing artificial.  Food and family lie at the core of everything we believe at Del Real Foods, and we invite you to apply to join and experience out company culture firsthand, where we view our teams as family, with a shared appreciation for what it means to savor both food, and family.   In this role, the Maintenance Mechanic Lead supports production efficiencies by managing the maintenance and repair of all processing machinery, Auxiliary equipment and supporting systems throughout the facility. This role is the Maintenance Mechanic lead is responsible for the hands-on leadership in executing maintenance activities (troubleshooting, diagnosing and repairing of mechanical and electro-mechanical systems) daily.

Requirements

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
  • Knowledge of (lock-out/tag-out) procedures and employee safety practices
  • Ability to learn mechanical systems.
  • Basic knowledge of company employee policies.
  • 1 year required for employment practices in a USDA Establishment.

Nice To Haves

  • Industrial Mechanical Technician Certification is a plus (Not required)
  • Industrial Electrical Technician Certification is a plus (Not required)

Responsibilities

  • Follows and enforces employee’s safety procedures.
  • Report any unsafe conditions to immediate supervisor or manager.
  • Follow, Monitor, and Enforce all food safety procedures.
  • Follows and enforces SQF requirements (Facilities, Equipment, SSOP, SOP, GMP’s, and ETC)
  • Follows and enforces USDA & FDA guidelines and regulations.
  • Follow Company Policies, Regulations, and Lunch & Break Policies
  • To serve as a liaison between supervisors and team members
  • Verify that all personnel are present and with the required PPE.
  • Always Ensuring compliance with good manufacturing practices and safety standards.
  • Proficient electrical knowledge (120/220/480)
  • Proficient in troubleshooting and repairing of: Engines/Motors/Vacuums/Pumps/Conveyors/Ovens
  • Proficient in standard and metric tools
  • Proficiency in programming PLC
  • Packaging Machine experience
  • Knowledge of Glycol and Ammonia refrigeration
  • Understands and adheres to established safety programs.
  • Communicates effectively at all levels in the maintenance and operating departments.
  • Provides rapid response when equipment malfunctions or breaks down.
  • Proper and safe use of hand and power tools and working on machinery.
  • Verify all machinery is in good working condition.
  • Provide other leaders or staff assistance (in the lunch hour, cover absent staff)
  • Accurately complete documentation as needed.
  • Maintain work area clean.
  • Provide new personnel with the required training.
  • Attending all the meetings of safety and quality.
  • Open to cover other positions as assigned by the Manager.
  • Comply with the regulations of the company.
