About The Position

The Maintenance Manager at one of Oxford’s boutique-style or luxury hotels is responsible for overseeing and actively participating in the daily maintenance and facility operations of the hotel, ensuring a safe, comfortable, and well-maintained environment for both guests and team members. This role includes hands-on troubleshooting and repairs, as well as leading the Maintenance Team in delivering consistent, high-quality results that support guest satisfaction and operational excellence. The Maintenance Manager is responsible for implementing and managing preventative maintenance programs, addressing facility issues promptly, maintaining building systems, and ensuring full compliance with company standards, safety protocols, and regulatory requirements. This role collaborates closely with hotel leadership and other departments to ensure the property operates efficiently and presents at the highest standard. In some locations, the Maintenance Manager may also provide guest transportation services as needed. The Maintenance Technician plays a key role in striving to meet and exceed Four-Star service standards—delivering high-quality service and amenities with strong attention to detail, ensuring excellence in every guest interaction, and consistently exceeding expectations.

Requirements

High School Diploma or GED Required
Valid Drivers License Required
Proof of eligibility to work in the United States
Reliable transportation to and from work
Ability to work a flexible schedule including evening, weekends and holidays
Reliable and consistent attendance
Must be able to perform simple grasping, fine manipulation, and repetitive hand and arm movements frequently
Must be able to bend, squat, crawl, kneel, push, pull, climb and walk on uneven surfaces on a frequent basis
Must be able to walk, climb ladders and work outside in a variety of weather conditions (rain, wind, snow, heat)
Must be able to climb stairs both inside and outside and frequently lift 50 lbs. and often exert up to 20 pounds of force to push, pull, carry, lift or otherwise move objects

5+ Years of Progressive Experience in a Hotel
Experience / Training in: Commercial Refrigeration, Boilers, Plumbing, Air Conditioning, Building Construction, Carpentry, Fire Systems, Sewer and Water, Boilers, Electrical Breakers, Janitorial Services, Energy Conservation, Environmental, Hazardous Waste, Hygiene and Sanitation
Maintenance and repairs of all infrastructures of hotel systems

Responsibilities

Always provide a high level of customer service, taking time with our guests to ensure every aspect of their stay is up to expectations
Oversee training new employees and providing of continuous on-the-job training to ensure that Four Diamond and brand Standards are being met
Lead and oversee the daily activities of the maintenance team, providing hands-on support and training to ensure tasks are completed efficiently providing guests a luxury experience
Lead pre-shift meetings, ensuring the team is informed of daily priorities and VIP guests
Ensure quick resolution of guest-reported maintenance issues to maintain service excellence, scheduling all work to be done at a minimum of inconvenience to guests
Coordinate frequently with maintenance team, Front desk, housekeeping and all Food and Beverage staff to ensure smooth operations and guest satisfaction consistent with Forbes service standards
Assist the General Manager in implementing maintenance programs and procedures including the benchmarking process
Provide input on staffing needs based on operational requirements and help coordinate team schedules.
Handle guest complaints, requests, and concerns with professionalism and discretion, using the Oxford Collection guest recovery, and service gestures consistent with Forbes service standards
Hold regular staff meetings ensuring that Four Diamond Brand standards are communicated
Manage time and attendance records, including scheduling, ensuring compliance with company policies, scheduled breaks and overtime regulations, and addressing any discrepancies in a timely manner
Perform routine maintenance tasks on the interior and exterior of the facility, including electrical, plumbing, HVAC, and structural work
Ensure the proper operation and maintenance of distribution systems for electricity, water, and gas
Inspect randomly selected rooms for quality and Four Diamond standards adherence
Assist with day-to-day operations such as trash removal, pool maintenance, grounds upkeep, and security rounds, ensuring tasks are completed in a timely manner
Conduct regular inspections of the property to ensure compliance with OSHA, fire safety laws, and company standards, addressing potential hazards or cleanliness issues
Participate in the hotel's preventative maintenance program, ensuring guest rooms, public areas, and hotel equipment are maintained properly
Accurately log all maintenance tasks and keep records of equipment and facility operations
Provide guest transportation as needed
Comply with timekeeping policies by recording hours worked and obtaining approval for any overtime
Adhere to attendance policies and maintain regular availability for scheduled shifts
May participate in drivers program
Perform other duties as assigned by the Property Managers
