About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic II maintains Trinity Health buildings, equipment, and facility systems to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. This role performs skilled mechanical maintenance and repair work across multiple building systems, supports departmental service requests, and assists with upkeep of grounds and fleet vehicles as needed. Working as part of a collaborative facilities team, the Maintenance Mechanic II contributes to a safe, functional, and healing environment by helping ensure facilities consistently meet operational, safety, and regulatory standards through dependable workmanship and clear communication.

Requirements

  • Current valid driver's license.
  • Trade school preferred.
  • 2 years of mechanical equipment maintenance and repair.
  • This role requires frequent standing, walking, bending, climbing, and working in varied positions while performing maintenance tasks.
  • The Maintenance Mechanic II regularly lifts, carries, pushes, and pulls tools, equipment, and supplies associated with facility and grounds maintenance.
  • Adequate vision, hearing, and manual dexterity are required to safely operate tools, read gauges and work orders, and communicate effectively.
  • Compliance with safety procedures, use of personal protective equipment, and adherence to infection prevention protocols are required at all times.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine and corrective maintenance on building systems, equipment, and mechanical components to support uninterrupted facility operations.
  • Troubleshoot, repair, and maintain mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and related systems in accordance with established procedures and safety standards.
  • Maintain Trinity Health grounds and fleet vehicles by completing inspections, basic repairs, and preventative maintenance activities.
  • Respond to service requests from clinical and non-clinical departments to address maintenance needs in a timely and professional manner.
  • Document completed work, inspections, and repairs accurately using maintenance logs or computerized systems.
  • Collaborate with other facilities staff, contractors, and vendors to support projects, repairs, and compliance initiatives.
