About The Position

The Maintenance Mechanic will perform duties to install, maintain, and repair equipment at the Peekskill Manufacturing Site. Tasks include complex process equipment installation, maintenance troubleshooting and repairs utilizing advanced skills in pipefitting, structural steel, pneumatic, hydraulic, rigging and other millwright work on rotating and fixed equipment such as process machinery, tanks/pumps/agitators, furnaces, boilers and general building & grounds maintenance. Perform basic welding and fabrication; assist other mechanics in mechanical assignments as required. Operate forklift truck and other mobile equipment as required.

Requirements

High School or Trade School Diploma, or GED.
Experience working in a chemical, refining, or manufacturing facility
Possess good computer skills
Good communication skills

Nice To Haves

Further education in the mechanical field
Experience in the safe and proper use of maintenance hand tools and power tools, diagnostic instruments.
Knowledge of and skill in the basic use of shop equipment such as metal lathe and milling machine in fabrication and repair work.

Responsibilities

Maintenance Mechanics work from complicated drawings, design specifications and/or utilizing good maintenance practices and ingenuity to solve problems.
Work in coordination with multi-craft maintenance activities,
Notify status of work, and communicate deficiencies in equipment and/or repair information.
Maintain excellent housekeeping practices throughout the workplace,
Communicate all problems or difficulties to the supervision, and utilize current technology as required.
Enter and work within confined spaces
Maintain and update necessary maintenance records, use basic computer programs, and learn and maintain computer skills to support programs.
