Maintenance activities include routine, planned, unplanned and outage mechanical maintenance tasks. Will include a higher degree of troubleshooting and more complex maintenance task such as machine installation and replacement.

Requirements

  • High School education or equivalent required
  • 3-5 years of millwright journeyman experience in an industrial or manufacturing type environment, especially regulated by OSHA and EPA environments within a chemical site.
  • A demonstrated experience and skill in the MW craft is required, this can be achieved by obtaining acceptable or satisfactory scores on courses imparted by NCCER, Ramsay, trade schools or other nationally recognized MW craft training organization

Nice To Haves

  • A one-year certificate of successful completion of a MW skills training curriculum, from an Evonik approved provider, is preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Follow and apply all Industrial Safety requirements for the Millwright (MW) craft in assigned plants or shops.
  • Safely use common millwright tools including hand tools, power tools, and testing equipment.
  • Maintain strong knowledge of mechanical principles (both theoretical and hands-on).
  • Understand and work with mechanical equipment systems such as rotating/reciprocating equipment, hydraulics, pneumatics, material handling, and rigging.
  • Perform mid-level installation, troubleshooting, repair, and maintenance of mechanical equipment and components.
  • Read and interpret manuals, schematics, P&IDs, blueprints, and technical procedures to support maintenance work.
  • Support team development by learning from senior technicians and mentoring less-experienced technicians.
  • Continue developing skills through training, best maintenance practices, cost/KPI awareness, and participation in troubleshooting equipment and improvements.
