About The Position

Maintenance/Millwright – Corn Plant Decatur, IL This is a full-time, hourly position. Shift(s) Available: Will train on 1st shift, then based on seniority per department will be moved to backshift either 2nd, 3rd, or swing. Must have ability to work any shift, overtime including weekends, holidays, or different shifts with advance notice as needed. The shift schedule includes an 8-hour, 10-hour or 12-hour shift on a rotational or swing schedule (i.e., seven-day swing and/or rotational). Installs and maintains machinery and equipment using hoists, lift trucks, hand tools and power tools. The position works to accomplish priorities of day-to-day operations and resolve related problems. Assist with reliability troubleshooting as needed.

Requirements

  • Prior experience in a manufacturing environment, and/or a strong mechanical background to include a minimum of 3-5 years of hands on maintenance and/or millwright experience
  • Technical school training as mechanic or equivalent highly desired
  • Willing and able to take formal trade school courses as selected by ADM management and take such courses on a continuing basis during the training period
  • Exhibit regular and prompt attendance and maintain attendance record in accordance with company policy
  • Experience in manufacturing, production and/or similar military environment (preferred)
  • Must be 18 years or older
  • Must be eligible to work in the United States without visa sponsorship
  • Ability to understand and effectively communicate in English (verbal/written)
  • High School diploma or equivalent (preferred)

Nice To Haves

  • Basic welding, layout and fabrication skills
  • Experience with V-belt and Chain drive
  • Machine troubleshooting and repair skills
  • Experience with 480 volt – 3 phase motor circuits
  • Hydraulic and pneumatic knowledge a plus
  • Knowledge of HVAC systems, and/or electrical background

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for installation, repair and maintenance of rotating process equipment including but not limited to pumps, conveyors, dryers within an industrial manufacturing environment.
  • This position will also include interfacing with computerized preventative and predictive maintenance, inventory management and work order systems.
  • Read, understand and follow verbal and written instructions and SOP’s.
  • Job assignments may include instrumentation and electrical, chillers and pump re-builds.
