POSITION SUMMARY: The Maintenance Planner is responsible for all coordination duties related directly to preventative maintenance, parts, documentation, and the overall maintenance department. Ensures continued availability and requisition of all required parts for the Maintenance department while assisting in the continuous improvement of the preventative maintenance program. Develops recommended optimal schedules for preventative maintenance, corrective maintenance and related project work on the material handling system by developing improvement recommendations to maintenance processes. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Understands and keeps current a comprehensive asset inventory of all material handling and facility assets requiring preventative and corrective maintenance. Understands, plans and refines the proper preventative and corrective maintenance scheduling and tasks for each asset and the estimated work effort and time to complete these tasks based on the number and location of assets, critical nature of each asset, estimated work effort and time required to complete and the available technician hours. Remains accountable to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities in the areas of optimal parts coordination, becoming a subject matter expert on CMMS (Computerized Maintenance Management Systems) utilization, and develop a wide knowledge and understanding of effective maintenance parts. Plans the scheduling of sort support coverage to properly support day-to-day DC operations Plans scheduling of maintenance projects (including business continuity tests) to be performed by technicians based on the complexity of the project, skills of the technician workforce, available maintenance hours and critical nature of the project. Supports continuous improvement activities related to safety, quality, and cost Work in an interdisciplinary and intercultural team. Plans the scheduling of inventory reconciliation program tasks to ensure compliance with maintenance process requirements. Develops recommendations for maintenance process improvements of the DC’s maintenance department. Receives, sorts, and catalogues all incoming & outgoing parts. Stores items in an orderly and accessible manner in a parts room, tool room, warehouse, or other locations. Maintains records of amount, kind, and location of parts, supplies and materials and prepares requisitions and order to replenish parts, supplies and materials. Communicates availability of parts ordered to the person who prepared the requisition and works with the Maintenance department on new and upcoming projects that require parts. Gathers and sets out parts for planned project work for Maintenance personnel. Assists in the monitoring of daily, weekly, yearly PM programs. Assists in the scheduling of preventative maintenance with the Maintenance Manager. Develops and maintains the filing system for Maintenance documents and records including all PM records. Generates reports covering various KPI’s concerning parts inventory, work order and PM completions, equipment histories, labor hours utilization, etc. Adheres to all health and safety policies/procedures. Cycle counts on all parts on a quarterly basis to verify parts accuracy for SAP. Kitting of parts for upcoming rebuilds, work orders and PMs. ALL OTHER DUTIES AS ASSIGNED
