About The Position

Great Basin College is recruiting for a Maintenance Repair Worker 3 for the Ely Center located in Ely, Nevada. This position will be responsible for semi-skilled maintenance duties such as carpentry and repairs, plumbing, painting, electrical, HVAC maintenance, vehicle and equipment maintenance; grounds maintenance duties such as mowing grass, pruning trees and bushes, installing and repairing irrigation systems, and snow removal; janitorial duties such as vacuuming and shampooing carpets, mopping floors, and cleaning of classrooms and restrooms; supervisory duties; and other duties as assigned.

Requirements

  • two (2) years of experience performing semi-skilled work in the relevant building and/or mechanical trades; OR One (1) year of experience as a Maintenance Repair Worker II in Nevada State service; OR An equivalent combination of education and experience as described above
  • Pursuant to NRS 284.4066, this position has been identified as affecting public safety. Persons offered employment in this position must submit to a pre-employment screening for controlled substances.
  • A valid Class “C” driver’s license or higher operator’s license is required at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
  • Must be able to be insured without an SR-22 or a certificate of financial responsibility (CFR) at the time of appointment and as a condition of continuing employment.
  • The duties of this position require exerting 50 to 100 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 25 to 50 pounds of force frequently, and/or 10 to 20 pounds of force constantly to move objects. Heavy work requires walking or standing to a significant degree and pushing and/or pulling.
