About The Position

The Maintenance Shift Manager will be responsible for supervising a team of skilled technicians as they perform the necessary repairs and preventive maintenance associated with the reliable operation of a beverage plant. This role involves working closely with the maintenance team, production staff, and other departments to minimize downtime and improve productivity.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or equivalent qualification.
  • 3-5 years proven experience in a similar role.
  • Good understanding of the technical features of plumbing, carpentry, and electrical systems.
  • Strong knowledge of machines and equipment.
  • Excellent organizational and leadership abilities.
  • Keen eye for detail to ensure quality and safety standards.
  • Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Facility Management, or a similar field a plus.
  • Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) experience preferred.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise a shift of skilled technicians, providing guidance and support as necessary to safely accomplish plant production goals.
  • Ensure department standards are met in the execution of maintenance work while employees are held to both food and personal safety protocols.
  • Manage weekly scheduled work lists, ensuring tasks are assigned and carried out appropriately to meet schedule compliance goals.
  • Manage an urgent work list by coordinating repairs with plant personnel and assigning shift resources as necessary.
  • Conduct shift change meetings to inform employees of the state of the plant and make assignments.
  • Responsible for training and developing technicians.
  • Use a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) to create, update, and complete work orders.
  • Help verify spare parts inventories for plant equipment.
  • Help manage and reduce repair parts and labor costs.
  • Help develop preventive and predictive plans to increase overall equipment effectiveness.
