About The Position

Southern Industrial Constructors seeks Maintenance Specialist for an on-going site in the West Jefferson, NC area. This role is for an on-going assignment. Hired candidates will be considered for Benefits/Paid Time Off after 3-months. #SIC #LI On-Site #LI-VB1

Requirements

  • At least two years experience related to general production maintenance.
  • Supports site maintenance activities through the safe performance of a wide range of manual and skilled labor tasks.
  • Conditions include working in office, shop, busy traffic areas, freezers, and warehouses, with frequent exposure to dirt, dust, grease, oil, vibrations, and adverse weather conditions.
  • Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings
  • May be required to lift and carry items weighing up to 50 pounds
  • Must be able to move in and around confided spaces and uneven areas
  • Must be able to adequately hear and respond to voice commands and alerts from other employees, alarms and other job-related noises
  • Must be able to safely access all areas of property and buildings
  • Must be able to effectively use all required PPE equipment
  • Strenuous physical demands are required to safely perform the essential functions associated with this position
  • Must be able to safely operate all involved equipment and tools
  • Must be capable of standing for long periods of time, bending consistently, working on ladders, and in awkward body positions
  • Safety/Steel toe shoes are required

Responsibilities

  • Remove water from parts washer and clean unit, then fill washer back with water.
  • Check soap concentration levels.
  • Add coolants and lubricants to machines as required.
  • Perform chip grinding and removal of chips from production area as required.
  • Support other maintenance employees as directed.
  • Perform daily audits as required.
  • Painting and touchup as directed.
  • Cleaning facility as directed.
  • Replace bulbs in lights as needed.
  • Must have the ability to work independently as well as in a team environment.
  • Analyze and resolve work problems.
  • Must have the ability to balance multiple tasks and priorities.
  • Skilled in both written and verbal communication.
  • As required, perform safety inspections of work area, equipment and tools in accordance with SIC policy to ensure compliance with government regulations, customer requirements, and SIC’s safety program.
  • Knowledge of safety standards and precautions for plant maintenance and repair work.
  • Complete all Safety and general job training as required by SIC.
  • Observe SIC/Client Safety processes and procedures at all times.
  • Maintain a safe, clean and organized working environment.
  • Perform other job duties as assigned by Supervisor or Manager.
