About The Position

The Maintenance Senior Specialist supports 85°C Bakery Cafe’s production facilities by ensuring all bakery production equipment, utilities, and building systems operate safely, efficiently, and in compliance with food safety and company standards. This role serves as a senior technical expert within the production maintenance team, leads complex troubleshooting, supports preventative maintenance programs, and partners closely with Operations, QA, and Engineering to maximize uptime and product quality.

Requirements

  • 5+ years of maintenance experience in food manufacturing, bakery production, or industrial manufacturing environments
  • Strong expertise in mechanical, electrical, and control systems
  • Hands-on experience with industrial bakery or food processing equipment
  • Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and technical manuals
  • Strong problem-solving, communication, and leadership skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours to support production schedules, including off-shifts and emergencies

Nice To Haves

  • Experience in high-volume bakery or food manufacturing environments
  • HVAC, refrigeration (EPA), electrical, or PLC troubleshooting experience
  • CMMS experience
  • Bilingual (English/Mandarin or English/Spanish) is a plus

Responsibilities

  • Production Equipment & Facility Maintenance Perform advanced preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on production bakery equipment, including ovens, mixers, proofers, sheeters, conveyors, packaging equipment, and industrial refrigeration
  • Maintain and troubleshoot facility systems such as HVAC, compressed air, steam, plumbing, electrical, and building infrastructure
  • Diagnose complex mechanical and electrical failures and lead root cause analysis to prevent recurrence
  • Support installation, commissioning, and modification of production equipment and facility systems
  • Respond promptly to equipment downtime and production-impacting maintenance issues
  • Technical Leadership Serve as a senior technical resource and subject-matter expert for production equipment and utilities
  • Mentor and train Maintenance Technicians on safe work practices, troubleshooting methods, and equipment standards
  • Assist in developing, reviewing, and improving PM schedules, maintenance SOPs, and lockout/tagout procedures
  • Provide technical support for capital projects, equipment upgrades, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Safety, Food Safety & Compliance Ensure all maintenance activities comply with OSHA regulations, FDA and local health department requirements, and 85°C Bakery Cafe food safety standards
  • Follow and enforce GMPs, sanitation, allergen control, and food defense requirements during maintenance work
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records, work orders, and documentation within the CMMS
  • Support internal audits, customer audits, and regulatory inspections
  • Continuous Improvement & Reliability Analyze equipment performance, downtime trends, and recurring failures to drive reliability improvements
  • Recommend and implement long-term corrective actions to reduce breakdowns and maintenance costs
  • Partner with Production, QA, and Engineering teams to improve equipment reliability, throughput, and product consistency
  • Support energy efficiency and sustainability initiatives within production facilities
